My stock 08 Silverado 5.3 with headers, 3" true duals with torque storm only made 350hp. Cam swap dod delete some head port. Got me 550..
DOD AFM delete?
Just out of curiosity, I don’t have a big enough engine to even make 2” primary headers worth the buy. (cammed 4.8 with hand ported 862 heads done on my bench lol) Would I still get the same sound using the TSP Truck headers and say buying a ctsv style xpipe into a set of Spintech 6000’s? Not trying to break the bank here haha. Obviously I’d try to keep the equal length cause that’s most of the sound.
Getting rid of the y pipe is one of the Best things you can do for the sound. We’ve done a bunch of them since very similar with all sorts of mufflers. They just hands down sound good with a close to equal dial setup and an x pipe.
@@NorthernPerformanceCars awesome thank you! I knew the Y pipe was the main reason they sounded like a truck. Just wasn’t sure if the Fbody style headers made that much of a sound difference or if it was just more of a power increase
I have a 5.3 with prc 220 heads and the torque storm super charger 1 7/8 headers 102mm throttle body th400 and 411 gears in 68 gto and i was wanting a nasty sounding cam. Could i run the NA tps tsunami cam with that or would that be to big for the blowe? I would like a nice sounding cam but still make the power .What would you recommend
You could if you wanted to. They tend to lose some boost with the aggressive n/a cams due to overlap. Btr red hot would be a better paired cam. Similarly sized. Just more suited for a centrifugal.

I have a 5.3 with a torqstorm supercharger and some prc 220 cnc ported heads. What would be the biggest cam I could run with that? I really like a lot of chop. Thanks
Why Leave the stock exhaust after headers? That muffler weight is same or more that the SSR battery weight. I removed the stock exhaust & replaced it with Magna flow engine exhaust manifolds to tail pipe. I felt a significant difference in power in my 2004 SSR. I added Jet MAF & throttle body. More power too. I have used a Diablo Predator tuner to gained more power & engine runs cooler. Not impressed with the dyno numbers that showed little increase. Bolt on parts can make a difference. I am at 400 hp in my Vortec rear wheel power.

I have an LS3 with the ATAK and cam, and I'm glad to see that the Long Tubes really do a LOT. My motor blew, so I'm running the LS3/525 motor for now, but it dynoed at 380hp with cast manifolds/cats at 200k miles while I recoup money for some Texas Speed Long Tubes. While I have a motor warranty, I'll keep the 525 Cam in it, but I'm probably going with the 1 7/8 LT's as I'm thinking the 2" LT's won't give me as much as I'd like.

When was the last time you re torqued the heads? The lower row head stud area tend to blow first. They also move the most during re torque. At your level you need to re torque more often.

You either found your sensitive cylinder on timing or the injector laid down on that hole. Some top fuel hoops copper gaskets and a couple injectors in the charge pipe. 3.80s with a hydraulic roller. Very impressive. I was always told the man standing on the biggest pile of broke parts is usually the fastest
I think it could certainly use the charge pipe injectors now. That’s a lot of heat! All of the cylinders were within 3% prior to that pass. Trimmed real well. Found a new hot one apparently!
Are you guys all settled in at the shop on the move? I wanted to bring in a car for a dyno tune, in the next few weeks & tried calling the shop the other day and didn't get a hold of anyone
No. We are not settled on the new shop. As the voicemail explains. Please leave a message and when we get settled and moved in. We will reach out to everyone that has left a message and make a plan. We are hoping for the first week of July.
Is the sleeves moving expected or acceptable for what kinda power you were making? Or is that something you don't want happening and did you do anything to stop it this go around?
I’ve never seen them move that much on any block. So it’s getting machined at a friends right now. All of the sleeves are Removed. Everything is being inspected. I don’t think a sleeve should move much in a solid billet block. This was 3x more movement than I’ve ever seen in a cast block
If those hoops seat in the sleeves then a low sleeve could definitely cause that blowout.

How would a torque storm or procharger centri blower be compared to a lsa or roots blower for off-road?
Way less torque earlier in the powerband. Would need to be spin 6-7000 rpm

Would you recommend tuning a 4.8 on E85 or 93 octane? I want to do a mild cam and 3" exhaust. I drive the truck almost daily and don't want anything too crazy.
